Brother David K. Baker is the Chapter President of the Eta Sigma Alumni Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. Professionally, he serves as a North Carolina District Court Judge in Wake County, North Carolina. He was appointed to serve by Governor Roy Cooper in May of 2019 and has since secured a full four-year term through 2026. Prior to his judicial appointment, Judge Baker was the principal attorney for The Law Office of David K. Baker where he focused primarily upon criminal defense and personal injury litigation. Judge Baker has been a pivotal leader in the nonprofit sector working directly with numerous organizations focused upon affordable housing, community economic development, and cultural arts. Brother Baker is a 1996 graduate of the University of North Carolina and a 2007 graduate of North Carolina Central School of Law. He is a firm believer that you cannot lead the people if you do not love the people.

Under his leadership the Eta Sigma Chapter has seen historic growth in membership reaching the milestone of 100 members in 2021. Baker recognizes that every brother has unique interest, skills and talents and desires to see those unique gifts used for the benefit and uplift of the community. He reminds us that we not only have the power to change the narrative about what it means to be a part of Black Greek Letter Organization, we also have the power within us to change the world.
